A luminous watercolour dawn sky with a sleeping crescent moon, eyes gently closed, glowing above soft low hills.

DearDream  ·  a dream journal

Good morning. Tell me what you dreamt.

Say it out loud the moment you wake. DearDream writes it down, reads it gently, and paints it as a watercolour.

How it works

A dream journal that listens, reads and paints.

Made for the first quiet minute of the morning, before the dream slips away.

  1. 01

    Tell it

Say it out loud or type it, right when you wake. Half asleep is fine.

  2. 02

    Read it

DearDream reads it gently and literally first: what it may be about, and one question to sit with.

  3. 03

    See it painted

Every dream becomes its own small watercolour, painted from what you told it.

  4. 04

    Keep it

Your almanac keeps every dream, pressed like a flower. Over time, patterns and a monthly story appear.

Talk it through. Any dream can be talked over with DearDream.

One morning, an example

A dream, painted.

A watercolour of a calm, pale sea at dawn, washed in lilac and apricot

The dream

The lemon room behind my bookcase

There is a door behind the bookcase that I have somehow never noticed. Behind it, a long glass room of lemon trees, and every lemon has a single word pressed into its skin. At the far end, the windows look straight out onto the sea.

What DearDream reads

A room you never knew was there, inside the home you know best, opening onto a calm sea in the middle of the city. Rest, here, seems to ask only that you stop counting.

DearDream asks

Did the words on the lemons feel familiar, or entirely random?

Rarely remember your dreams? Even a fragment is enough. A gentle reminder each morning helps.

Private and gentle

Your dreams stay yours.

  • Your dreams are private. They are never sold and never used for ads.
  • Its paintings are small watercolours of the scenes and symbols in your dream. It never makes pictures of real people, and never anything sexual or intimate.
  • Delete a single dream, or everything, at any time.
  • DearDream offers reflections, not therapy or medical advice.
